Here is a place for me to post my musings on things I have read, research I have done and photos I have taken. Hopefully by keeping this log I will improve and have a permanent record of my findings. It may even help others along the way, who knows?......................................................................................................................

365 Projects

I decided to take on the challenge of a 365 project as I found I needed a challenge for motivation. I first stumbled across the idea of a 365 challenge when I googled "photo challenges" and the name Jamie Livingstone came up. He was a guy that took a polaroid shot every day of his life from 31st March 1979 to his death on 25th October 1997. His work can be found here.

As you can see from the slideshow below (2009/10) my day 1was not that great, but it marked a significant change in my life, one that I am so pleased we as a family made. ;) Nearly every shot throughout both years mean something to me, and looking at this first shot really reminds me of how quickly these two years have passed by even though it sometimes felt like it would never end. Looking at it I also realise how far I have come in this time!

I started both the projects in a very excited state as I wanted to learn how to use my camera out of auto mode, and have ended in the same way, as I know that I have found something that I really enjoy doing and now know my camera so well, hardly ever going into auto mode any more. It is a fabulous hobby that I can continue to learn new things with. There were many tough parts during the period, but I made it though the first year and will do so this my second year, I am so stubborn that I know even though I often feel like quitting that I will continue until the end.

Having now decided to continue my learning by doing the OCA course, I have renewed enthusiasm and cannot wait to start, I have so much to learn.
